School Years

As we go throughout the grades
Through many painful conferences
And tons of report card grades
We manage to climb up throughout the educational world
As the years blow by
And the seasons seem to fly
As we climb up the ladder of the years
But once nearing the top of the ladder
Panic sets in
As for now we must pick what we want to do later on
Beyond the educational boundaries
As we struggle to keep up
And stay afloat
As our parents start to panic as well
But at the break in the ladder
Of the diving board of school
Some may jump out
And find their way into the world
Because the fall and the work is much less
But some keep going
Higher and higher
And once school is done
Forever
And we find ourselves at the last rung
As we come to the end of the diving board
And we must jump now
Because there is nowhere else to go
And now we dive
Into the rest of our life
To find our way into the world
